Wise Stewards Initiative Seminar Includes Phillips and Lexington Seminaries
The presidents of Phillips Theological Seminary and Lexington Theological Seminary recently participated in the 2025 Wise Stewards Initiative Seminar organized by the In Trust Center for Theological Schools. Both seminaries were also represented by members of their boards.
The program is designed to enhance governance and leadership within theological institutions. Eleven schools from Canada and the United States took part in the seminar, demonstrating their commitment to institutional excellence and collaborative learning.
In Trust’s seminar, with colleagues at the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, provided a platform for theological schools to share best practices, address challenges and explore strategies for governance. The participation of leaders from Lexington and Phillips, both affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), highlights their dedication to build stronger relationships and think about their thriving into the future.
Attending from Phillips: Todd Adams (board member), Connie Dietz (board member), Claire Meredith (board chair), and President Doug Powe.
Attending from Lexington: Leslie Geoghegan (board member), President Charisse Gillett, William Lee (board chair), and Jim Wheeler (board member).
