February Brings Third Annual Black History & African American Heritage Month Worship Series

The Black Church Traditions and African American Faith-Life program (BCTAF) at Phillips offers its third annual worship series during Black History and African American Heritage month. CLICK TO WATCH

The series features a different speaker through February. The 2023 preachers include:

  • Feb. 7: James H. Hill, Jr., PhD, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Oklahoma
  • Feb. 14: The Rev. Cheryl Kirk-Duggan, PhD, Professor Emerita of Religious Studies at Shaw Divinity School
  • Feb. 21: The Rev. Luke Powery, PhD, Associate Professor of Religion and Dean of Duke University Chapel
  • Feb. 28: The Rev. Courtney Buggs, PhD,  Assistant Professor of Homiletics at Christian Theological Seminary.

The series will be broadcast at 11:30 a.m. CST each Tuesday from the Meinders Chapel at Phillips Theological Seminary on YouTube. They will also be available for viewing after the service.
