Registration Open for Justice and the Practice of Ministry Event
Join the faculty of Phillips Theological Seminary on August 10 for a conversation on Justice and the Practice of Ministry. This online event features a series of fast-paced presentations you can view ahead of the live conversation time in August.
“This is a new opportunity for clergy, commissioned ministers, lay persons, congregational study and any interested in justice ministries,” Vice President for Advancement Terry Ewing said.
Five Phillips Seminary faculty members will share presentations in their area of study:
- Pastoral Care with Lee H. Butler, Jr., PhD
- New Testament with Warren Carter, PhD
- Hebrew Bible with Lisa Davison, PhD
- Theology with Lisa Dellinger, PhD
- Faith Formation and Instruction with Annie Lockhart-Gilroy, PhD.
“Our hope is these brief presentations will start lively conversation and discussions during the event,” Ewing said. “The videos will also serve as an ongoing resource for personal and congregational study of justice ministries.”
Registrants will be able to watch the five TED-style video presentations prior to the live, online event which starts at 9 a.m. (Central) August 10. The videos will also be available for future use for ministry settings.
“These discussions and conversations will be designed for multiple settings, small groups and one-on-one time with faculty,” Ewing said.
Registration is open through August 8. The full event, including one continuing education unit, is $45.
