Annie A. Lockhart-Gilroy

Annie Lockhart-Gilroy is a womanist pedagogue and practical theologian who writes and teaches about emancipatory pedagogies and the spiritual formation of youth. Annie received her BA in English with a minor in Education and teaching certificate from Dickinson College. She taught, coached, and advised students for years before entering seminary with a goal of learning how to better nurture the spiritual need of adolescents. She received her M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary then worked with and directed a faith-based nonprofit before attaining her Ph.D. in Christian Education and Congregational Studies from Garrett-Evangelical Theological School. She publishes and speaks on various topics surrounding education and adolescent spirituality through blogs, articles, and scholarly publications.
