February 18-22

When the 2018 Grammy-nominated blues musician Guy Davis told the Woody Guthrie Center he wanted to come to Tulsa, be an artist in residence in Tulsa Public Schools, learn more about the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot, and perform a concert, the WGC's executive director saw an opportunity for PhillipsFest to build on the model developed in its first year. PhillipsFest 2018 will expand the impact of Phillips Theological Seminary's work for justice and hope through a series of events for the community during the week of February 18-22.
When the PhillipsFest planning committee learned that Guy Davis was interested in coming to Tulsa, they began imagining how a week of events could be developed to facilitate vital conversations for the wider Tulsa community. Through this dreaming, PhillipsFest 2018 was born.
