Where Wisdom Is Found

Teach us, O God, where wisdom is to be found...  So begins the litany prepared by PTS Librarian Sandy Shapoval for the dedication of the Beasley Rare Book Room.

LITANY OF DEDICATION

Leader: Teach us, O God where wisdom is to be found, and show us the place of  knowledge and understanding.

People: We search for God with our hearts and minds.

Leader: Your people have always sought a greater understanding of your ways through study.

People: Give us a spirit of learning, critical thinking, and   reflection so that we may carry this search forward towards future generations.

Leader: Giver of wisdom, we are grateful for spaces that preserve the tradition of learning.

People: Be present with our people as they reach out in the present and the future to the minds and voices of our community’s past that wait in this room.

Leader: Holy One, bless the scholarship that is produced from this beautiful space.

People: May it further our collective mission to help the church make the Christian faith effective in human life and society.
