Toward Justice and Freedom

Prayers of the People for Chapel

 August 29, 2013

Let us continue in prayer together:

As the arc of the moral universe bends toward justice and freedom, let us be a part of it, Holy One.

Through your grace make it possible for us to set aside our past participation in injustice—whatever form it took--so that we might be free to shout for freedom for all who are bound by chains of racist policies and protection of privilege; so that we might be free to speak shalom for all who are torn by angry words and bloody actions; so that we might be free to offer gospel hope for all who dream of a better life for all people.

In the name of Jesus.
