Social Justice Studies

The graduate diploma in Social Justice Studies offers persons who hold a baccalaureate degree to pursue Master's level studies in the intersections of social justice and theological studies.  Portal courses, in some instances, might be needed as a prerequisite for course work.

15-16 hours of course work will be selected in consultation with an adviser, taking into consideration course prerequisites and the student's interests.  Courses for this diploma might include studies in ethics, biblical studies, history and theology, conflict and violence, gender and sexuality, feminist/womanist issues, liberation and post-colonial studies, black theology, and the Civil Rights movement.  The faculty adviser will assist the student in selecting those courses that best fit the student's interest.   Anyone with a specific area of interest should consult the office of Admissions to discover the availability of courses in the area of interest before applying.

Admission Requirements:
Graduate diploma students must have a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better.

The cost for graduate diploma students if $140 per hour for tuition.  Diploma students also pay $100 in fees each semester that they enroll in the program.  Books are a separate cost. Since the tuition rate for diploma students is already reduced from the usual $480 per hour for master's students, there is no additional financial assistance available.
