With fear and trembling, we approach a God who knows us fully.

SHINING LIGHT IN HIDDEN PLACES

Holy One

          Who is intimately acquainted with all our ways,

We long to be known,

          Yet, when we recognize how completely we are known by you,

                    Sometimes we are terrified,

For we are people who have secrets,

           Even from our own selves.

Dazzle us with your love,

           And woo us with your compassion and grace

And we will come out of our hiding and follow you.
