Phillips Theological Seminary Seeks Visionary Leader for Its Next President

The Board of Trustees of Phillips Theological Seminary is conducting a national search for a visionary leader to guide the school during a time of unprecedented change and adaptation for graduate theological education in North America.

The board is committed to selecting as the next president an individual who will embrace the seminary’s mission and values, build upon our academic and scholarly excellence, and who affirms our dedication to following the way of Jesus in order to cultivate vital congregations, communities, conversations, and the public good.

Phillips is a stable and adaptable, endowment-driven institution that is blessed by an enthusiastic board, strong faculty, dedicated staff and administrators, and a generous community of support. The president exercises strategic leadership while ensuring the spiritual, academic, fiscal, and operational effectiveness of Phillips.

The board has charged the Presidential Transition Committee with developing a candidate pool that reflects the Reign of God as announced by Jesus Christ, diverse and welcoming regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, age, physical ability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic class.
