Phonathon Begins with a Party

Phonathon will kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 2 with a party featuring games, food, fun and prizes. The kick-off event will happen at 11:15 a.m. in the Student Commons at Phillips Theological Seminary.

Phonathon is an annual event to raise money for student scholarships and support at Phillips. Every year, approximately 90 percent of students receive scholarships to help off-set the cost of their seminary education. Volunteers call alumni and prospective donors to raise funds to continue supporting Phillips students.

This year, students, staff and faculty will be invited to earn tickets for prizes by volunteering for Phonathon and by playing games including a beanbag toss, a balloon pop and a cake walk. Tickets can be used for an on-site photo booth as well as prizes.

“I am so excited about this new party addition to Phonathon," said Malisa Pierce, the Annual Fund Program Director at Phillips. "We want everyone engaged in raising funds for student scholarships.”

Phonathon will take place from Sept. 9 to Sept. 25.

Phillips offers Christian graduate theological education in service of intelligent, just, and
compassionate religious and civic communities. We welcome students to a safe space for truth-seeking conversations about the Bible, Jesus, and faithful living. Courses are available on campus and online for certificate, diploma, MDiv, MAMC, and MTS programs, and on campus for the DMin program.
