Students and graduates from across the United States often describe how deeply they value the community and the life-long friendships initiated here. This perception of community and friendships may come as a surprise when you also catch that Phillips is a commuter school that owns no residential housing for students. But some students have transferred to Phillips from other seminaries with housing because they found a richer community of life here! And, students who take courses online report how much the friendships started online mean to them, with friendships and community enhanced by attending week-long concentrated courses on campus.
The modes of education have changed and are changing:
We offer classes on campus weekly, weekends, and concentrated weeks.
Online classes are via a course management system.
Some courses are offered in two formats simultaneously, with some students on campus and some students participating via a live stream.
What has not changed is the rich set of connections between students, students and faculty, and students and staff.
