Phillips Welcomes New Seminary Relations Director

Ashley Gibson, an award-winning journalist and publicist, has been named the Senior Director of Seminary Relations at Phillips Theological Seminary.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to have been selected as the new Senior Director of Seminary Relations at Phillips,” Gibson said. “This institution is in an exciting time of positive change and growth.”

Gibson comes to Phillips from Casady School where she served as Director of Communications. At Casady, Gibson managed and directed all of the School’s public relations, marketing and advertising functions. Prior to her tenure at Casady, the Dallas native served as Public Relations Director for Langston University, where she led the university’s PR and marketing endeavors across its three campuses and  earned  the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s Outstanding Leadership in Public Relations Award. Before transitioning into public relations, Gibson worked as a reporter for the Associated Press in Oklahoma City.

“With a 107-year history, Phillips is one of Oklahoma’s most respected graduate schools. I am looking forward to building on the momentum that has been gained through the hard work of the seminary’s dedicated faculty, staff, students, alumni and leadership team,” she said.

Gibson has also served as a board member for both the Executive Council for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Communicators Council and the Oklahoma Colleges Public Relations Association. She graduates from Leadership Oklahoma City’s LOYAL Program (Class IX) at the end of this month.

Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, journaling, freelancing, reading, traveling and relaxing at the lake.
