Phillips Walking Together Thru Tulsa Tour

Phillips Theological Seminary (PTS) will be a stop for “Walking Together through Tulsa,” a tour of Tulsa labyrinths, slated for Sunday afternoons in March from 2-4 p.m.

According to Mady Fraser, PTS Chaplain Emerita, “A labyrinth is an ancient, multi-cultural symbol that has appeared in different designs throughout history.”

Sponsored by Tulsa Labyrinth Circle, the purpose of this walk is to bring the people of Tulsa together to experience unity and harmony through the use of labyrinths. Each walk will focus on a different theme: Hold, Protect, Live and Order. A facilitator will be at each walk to answer questions and offer reading materials related to each theme. The reading materials will propose ideas for prayer and meditation while walking.

“The labyrinth offers a single, winding path to the center which represents a journey to our own center and back again,” said Fraser. “When used as a meditation and prayer tool, the walk is a symbolic pilgrimage that takes us out of our ego to the spirit that dwells within each and all of us.”

“Hold” is the theme for the March 7th walk held at PTS, 901 N. Mingo Road. The March 14 walk is slated for Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Road. The theme is “Protect.” “Live” is the theme for the March 21st walk which will be held at the Wien’s private residence, located at 3730 Terwilleger. “Order” is the theme for the final walk scheduled for March 28th at Hunter Park, 5804 E. 91st St.
