Passionate Teachers

“PTS offers me the opportunity to explore the faith with some of
the most outstanding scholars in their fields.”

One could judge a faculty by its credentials—our faculty members are educated at some of the best universities and divinity schools in the world. They publish articles and books and provide leadership in their respective professional guilds.

One could judge a theological faculty by its service. Here again, the PTS faculty meets the test well. Faculty members regularly serve congregations and other expressions of church as teachers, conference leaders, and preachers. They also participate in ecumenical and interfaith dialogues, and many other religious and civic endeavors.

At Phillips Theological Seminary the most distinctive mark of faculty quality is passion for teaching and learning. Faculty members are passionate about their academic disciplines and passionate about teaching. Some faculties excel in one or the other. Others combine the passions well. It is the latter experience you can count on at PTS. Our faculty has learned, and continues to learn, how to teach the adult learner well, which means that the classroom experience is decidedly co-educational.
