Education for following Jesus' Way into a more just and compassionate world.

Online Study for Lent 2012

The online study for Lent is a seven-week course (Feb 22 through April 10) designed to help you explore what God is saying to you about call, ministry, and where theological education fits into your future.  It’s designed to help you give focused attention to God’s activity in your life, as you engage readings on topics related to calling, watch or listen to presentations on the subject, and participate in conversation with others who are enrolled in the study.  This is not a graduate class for credit, so it is not research oriented, but we will use a variety of resources to help focus your reflection.  The primary objective of the course is for you to have a clearer sense of what God is saying to you now about your call.  What you do with that in the end is up to you!

The course will be structured around six questions:

1.    Where are you now?

2.    How do you understand calling?

3.    What have you been committed to and why?

4.    What do success and failure teach you about your call?

5.    What in the world gets your attention?

6.    Where do you go from here?

Participants may join the course anytime before March 6.  There is no fee to participate.  We ask simply that you commit, to the best of your ability, to fully participate for the duration of the study.

To request enrollment in the online study for Lent, e-mail Linda Ford at linda.ford@ptstulsa.edu or call at 918-270-6463.  This course is a great way to help you clarify your sense of call and to get an idea of how an online class works.  We will be using Blackboard, the current online course management system used by PTS.
