Online and On Campus

Accreditation standards require students to be do some residential work for the MDiv and the MAMC degrees. The amount required on campus for the MDiv is 24 semester hours. For the MAMC and MTS the requirement is 16 hours. Residential hours must be completed through PTS. If you plan carefully and are able to take advantage of the course offerings, you would be able to complete the on-campus hours in concentrated one-week or weekend courses in the fall, spring, or summer terms. Graduate Diploma and Certificate students doing the programs in general theological studies and biblical studies can complete all 15 hours in the online format. United Methodist students at PTS are required by the University Senate of the United Methodist Church to do all work on campus.

Phillips offers Christian graduate theological education in service of intelligent, just, and
compassionate religious and civic communities. We welcome students to a safe space for truth-seeking conversations about the Bible, Jesus, and faithful living. Courses are available on campus and online for certificate, diploma, MDiv, MAMC, and MTS programs, and on campus for the DMin program.
