Lost and Found

We are lost, we are found, we join the search for others in the name of the One who actively seeks.

Loving and Faithful God,
We live in a world where we often feel lost.  Lost jobs.  Lost homes.  Broken relationships.  Lost sleep, as we worry and fret over the future.  Plagued by deadlines, grades, performance reviews--we wonder if we are ministering effectively in our congregations and our places of work.  We are anxious and distracted, susceptible to straying from your love and reassurance.
God of Love and Light, bring us out of hiding.  Forgive our foolishness in wandering from your side.  Lift us back into your Presence, where we can once again rejoice in the confidence that you love us.  Sweep away our doubts with the same persistence as the woman who scoured her house looking for a lost coin.  Light the light for us to find our way back to You.
Open our eyes to see those who are hidden in plain sight.  Open our mouths to share the good news of Your love for all of Creation.  Give us energy and perseverance to join the search party.  Then draw us together, the lost and the found, to rejoice and celebrate.
