Life on Fire-The Missional Church

At 7:00pm on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the United Methodist Church of Turley, OK, a free public panel of local missional faith leaders moderated by Dr. Ellen Blue will feature:

  • Rev. Robinnson, of the Welcome Table and A Third Place and the Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship;
  • Justin Pickard with Crossover Community Impact in north Tulsa;
  • Brother James Patrick Hall, an Episcopalian friar, with the homeless feeding ministry near downtown and other missions;
  • Demalda Newsome of Newsome Community Farms and North Tulsa Farmers Market; and
  • Charles Beard with the Tulsa Catholic Worker House.

The panel is part of a larger missional church gathering called "Life on Fire" to be held in the Tulsa area Friday, February 28 to Sunday, March 2., 2014.  The event is sponsored by The Welcome Table Missional Community and A Third Place Community Foundation, 5920 N. Owasso Ave. and with the Turley United Methodist Church, 6050 N. Johnstown Ave. Participants will come from across the nation and across the Tulsa area to explore the mission and nature of church and faithful living for our emerging times.

The full weekend of discussions, worship, meals, and service opportunities is available for just $25 to make it as affordable as it can get.  People can come for any or all of it.  More information, as well as online registration is available at www.lifeonfire14.blogspot.com.
