Invocation for Gospel Cafe

Engage your senses with this prayer composed by Sue Williams and Sheri Curry for Minister's Week 2010.

INVOCATION FOR GOSPEL CAFE

God, who invites us to taste and know how good you are
and who invites us to gather as one body,

Awaken us to your presence in this place

surround us with your peace

fill us with your joy

feed us with your love

So that we can boldly proclaim

the Gospel of Good News in a hurting world.

And on this holy night,

take the peace, joy, and love we feel in this room

and send it on the winds of your Spirit

to every victim and every care giver

            in earthquake ravaged Haiti.

In the name of the one who calls us to imagine

how the world might be.   AMEN
