Immersed in the Stream of Tradition

We pray in the name of the one who offers water, spirit, and grace.

Water. River. Spirit. Grace—these are the gifts you offer us, Holy Mystery.

            Immerse us once again in the study of our traditions—the deeds and words of our spiritual ancestors;

                        Pour over us the understanding that comes with sustained attention

                             to a book, an argument, a lesson, a discussion, a person.

Sprinkle us with insight into your ways through our past and in our future.

             Baptize us with hope for an ever more just future.

                         Today we ask these things.

In the name of the one who offers water, spirit, grace. Amen.
