Water. River. Spirit. Grace—these are the gifts you offer us, Holy Mystery.

            Immerse us once again in the study of our traditions—the deeds and words of our spiritual ancestors;

                        Pour over us the understanding that comes with sustained attention

                             to a book, an argument, a lesson, a discussion, a person.

Sprinkle us with insight into your ways through our past and in our future.

             Baptize us with hope for an ever more just future.

                         Today we ask these things.
