InterReligious Understanding

The InterReligious Understanding program is designed for adult learners of all educational backgrounds who are interested in exploring the religious diversity of our community.  Phillips Theological Seminary offers this program as a part of pursuing its goal of vital interfaith conversations among all people to advance the public good.

Annual fall sessions will be Seven in Seven: Meet Seven Religious Traditions in Seven Weeks. Each session will provide an introduction to one of the following traditions: Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islamic, Jewish, and Native American. In some sessions, the seventh week is dedicated to interreligious dialogue.

Each spring, the program will offer a focused course, often One in Sixone of the above traditions in a six-week course that provides a richer and deeper understanding of that tradition.  Spring sessions will be determined based on availability of instructors and on participant interest.

Continuing education units are offered.
