Holy Fire, Fuel Me

PTS President Gary Peluso-Verdend offers a prayer for the end of the semester.

HOLY FIRE, FUEL ME

God of days and nights, of road and home, of learning and loving,

of Tulsa-space and cyberspace, of gaining and losing:

I come to the homestretch of another race

My legs are weary. My lungs burn. I dig deep.

Holy Fire, fuel me.

I’ve read more than I can absorb, written more than I’ve crafted,

replied more than I’ve thought.

Holy Fire, fuel me.

I’ve questioned and been questioned.

A few more answers would be nice.

Holy Fire, fuel me.

Stop the world, I want a rest.

Actually, don’t stop the world—I’d settle for a good night’s sleep.

Holy Fire, fuel me.

I’ll miss my friends and classmates. I’ll miss the experience of being re-minded—sometimes.

But I’m grateful to pass this marker on my journey.

Holy Fire, fuel me.

Holy Fire, fuel me with grace.

An extra log on the fire today, please, for all the members of the PTS community.

Amen.
