Credo Reference is a full-text reference service. The Phillips religion collection includes The Brill Dictionary of Religion, The Routledge Companion to the Christian Church, Encyclopedia of Protestantism, & The BlackwellCompanion to Jesus.

Oxford Biblical Studies Online provides comprehensive resource for the study of the Bible & biblical history.

Oxford Islamic Studies Online provides resources for study of Qur'anic text and Islamic history.


Serials and Services for Alums

All graduates of Phillips Seminary and Phillips University are welcome and highly encouraged to use our library for any research purposes, as a meeting place. Our range of services include the same check-out services you had as a student, interlibrary loan, and mailing books to you. We also offer you some special databases for alums, like ATLASerials for Alum and JSTOR for Alums.

Phillips alums may contact the Phillips Library for a user name & password to access these databases.

ATLA Serials for Alum, accessed via EBSCO, is an online collection of over 100 major religion & theology journals selected by leading religion scholars & theologians.

If you are an alumnus of another seminary or divinity school, you may contact your alma mater for access to databases from the American Theological Library Association.


Free Online

Loebolus contains the works in the Loeb Classical Library of Greek and Roman writings which have entered the public domain.  Works may be downloaded as PDFs.

ΛΟΓΕΙΟΝ  provide simultaneous lookup of entries in the many reference works that make up the Perseus Classical collection. It now includes The Dictionary of Medieval Latin from British Sources, one of the great national or regional dictionaries of medieval Latin.

Patrologiae Cursus Completus is the Greek series from the HathiTrust Digitial Library in 161 volumes. HathiTrust Digital Library provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and content from a variety of sources, including Google, the Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives.

The Methodist and Wesleyan Studies Collection from GlobeTheoLib. The Global Digital Library on Theology and Ecumenism is a multilingual online library from Globeethics.net Library offering free access to more than 650,000 full-text articles, journals, books and other resources. Its focus is on theology, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, ethics, and ecumenism in World Christianity. 

The Washington Post - Students, staff, and faculty using their Phillips email address (or any email ending in .edu) are allowed free digital access to the Washington Post. Register here using your .edu email address.
