Faculty Involvement Fall 2013

PTS Faculty Participate in Professional Meetings

The faculty will be (and has been) involved in several professional meetings this fall and winter, including:   

  •  Joe Bessler presented “The Once and Future God” (with David Galston) at the fall Westar meeting in October.  
  • Mindy McGarrah Sharp presented “Letters to a Young Bioethicist: Practice Beyond the Seminar (or How to Get Started, With or Without a Degree in Bioethics” (with Dr. Virginia Bartlett, Dr. Kyle L. Galbraith, and Dr. Daniel Morrison) at the annual meeting of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities in October. 
  • Lisa Davison, John Imbler, Mindy McGarrah Sharp, Dennis Smith, Susanna Southard and Kathy McCallie are attending AAR/SBL in November. 
  • While at AAR, Mindy will be part of a two grant consultations with the Cross-Institutional grant writing team and Wabash (with Susanna); and the AAR/SBL Women’s Caucus Roundtable “Alliances of Accountability: Three Models for Advancing Women’s Writing.”  
  • Richard Ward will be the convener/facilitator/respondent for the Performance Studies group at the Academy of Homiletics meeting in December.  
  • Ellen Blue is attending the American Society of Church History in January.
