Endowments
In order to ensure a bright future for PTS, it is important to add funds to the endowment. Currently, 18 percent of the seminary’s budget is funded from the endowment. In comparison, the average contribution from endowment for accredited mainline seminaries is 39 percent of budget. One of PTS's institutional goals is to increase the size of the permanent endowment.
From January 1, 2006 and forward, new gifts added to the endowment (not counting payments on pledges made before that date), are being matched, dollar for dollar, from a trust established by Mr. Chester Cadieux, our former board chairman, and his wife Debbie. The campaign to promote this match is Bridges of Faith.
A gift of any amount may be added to the endowment. There are many opportunities to give named gifts (such as for faculty chairs, professorships, lectureships, library books, student scholarships, rooms), including gifts that could be named in honor of or as a tribute to someone. Undesignated gifts are also welcome. Donors have given to the endowment from many sources, including but not limited to: cash and the sale of stocks; bonds; life insurance; property; and other investments.
Currently, over 80 persons have informed the seminary that they have named PTS in their estate plans. That giving society is called Generation to Generation. Please contact Ginny Walker for information regarding G2G by phone at (918) 270-6417 or by email.
