General Studies

The graduate diploma (for which participants earn master's level credit) program in General Theological Studies offers lay people and other individuals access to theological education in a progressive context without completing a full master's degree. The graduate diploma in graduate theological studies can be completed by taking courses online or on campus.

15 hours of course work will be selected in consultation with an adviser, taking into consideration course prerequisites and the student's interests.  Anyone with a specific area of interest should consult the the office of Admissions to discover the availability of courses in the area of interest before applying.

Admission Requirements:
Graduate diploma students must have a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better.

The cost for graduate diploma students if $140 per hour for tuition.  Diploma students also pay $100 in fees each semester that they enroll in the program.  Books are a separate cost. Since the tuition rate for diploma students is already reduced from the usual $480 per hour for master's students, there is no additional financial assistance available.
