Biblical Studies

The graduate diploma (for which participants earn master's level credit) programs in Biblical Studies offers lay people and other individuals access to advanced biblical study in a progressive context. The graduate diploma can be completed by taking courses online or on campus.


The semester-hours required for this certificate include:

Phase I: Invitation to Community................................................. 6 semester-hours

  • HB 500 Introduction to the Hebrew Bible
  • NT 500 Introduction to the New Testament 

Phase II: Vital Conversations ....................................................... 12 semester-hours

In Phase II students continue to utilize the strategies learned in Phase I to develop further skills and deepen knowledge in biblical studies, to be distributed as follows:

  • Hebrew Bible (6 hours)

  • New Testament (6 hours)

Admission Requirements:
Graduate diploma students must have a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better. 

The cost for graduate diploma students if $140 per hour for tuition.  Diploma students also pay $100 in fees each semester that they enroll in the program.  Books are a separate cost. Since the tuition rate for diploma students is already reduced from the usual $480 per hour for master's students, there is no additional financial assistance available.
