General Studies

The certificate (for which participants do not earn academic credit) program in General Theological Studies offer lay people and other individuals access to theological education in a progressive context without completing a full master's degree. The certificate in graduate theological studies can be completed by taking courses online or on campus.

15 hours of course work will be selected in consultation with an adviser, taking into consideration course prerequisites and the student's interests. Anyone with a specific area of interest should consult the office of Admissions to discover the availability of courses in the area of interest before applying.

Admission Requirements:

Certificate students are not required to have a bachelor's degree.

The cost for certificate students is $40 per hour, meaning a 3 hour course is $120. Books are a separate cost.  There is no financial assistance available for certificate students.
