Certificate Programs

Certificate programs at Phillips Theological Seminary offer you an opportunity to access courses from the theological curriculum for personal or professional enrichment. Our certificate students attend classes and complete assigned readings, but are not required to do written work or take tests. All certificate programs are 15 semester hours long. We offer certificates in the following areas:

Biblical Studies

General Studies

Interreligious Understanding

Admission Requirements:

The only requirement to be a certificate student is that you complete an application for admission and submit the $25 application fee. We do not require a bachelor's degree for admission to any of these programs.

Cost:

The cost for certificate students is $80 per hour, meaning a 1.5-hour course is $120 or a 3-hour course is $240. They will also need to pay for their books separately. There is no financial assistance available for certificate students.

Graduate Diploma Programs

Graduate diploma programs at Phillips Theological Seminary offer you an opportunity to take classes in a specific area of concentration for master's credit. All diploma programs are 15 hours long. Students in graduate diploma programs choose this option to accomplish a variety of personal or professional goals. Some programs can be completed completely online. For more details, see the descriptions for each program. We offer graduate diplomas in the following areas:

Biblical Studies

General Studies

Interreligious Understanding

Admission Requirements:

Graduate diploma students must have a bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.5 or better.

Cost:
The cost for graduate diploma students is $225 per hour for tuition, meaning a 1.5-hour course is $337.50 or a 3-hour course is $675. Diploma students also pay $100 in fees for each semester that they are enrolled in the program. They will also need to pay for their book separately. Since the tuition rate for diploma students is already reduced from the usual $400 per hour for master's students, there is no additional financial assistance available.
