Borrowing materials from PTS and other libraries

Borrowing Materials

Most of the PTS library’s collection is available for check-out. Reference items and some A-V materials are for in-library use only. Generally, materials may be checked out for a period of four weeks. Items may be renewed as often as needed, unless someone else has placed a request. Faculty and staff have an extending borrowing period. The PTS library can also mail materials to students.

Alums, retired faculty, and Special Borrowers

Alums (PTS and Phillips University), retired faculty, visitors, and Special Borrowers have privileges equal to those of students with the exception of proprietary (online) databases, such as EBSCO and JSTOR.  The contracts for these databases limit off-campus access to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.  Other users may access these databases on campus and are welcome to do so.

Students and faculty may also borrow materials from other libraries.

Interlibrary loan gives students the ability to borrow materials from libraries around the world.

OKShare enables PTS students to utilize other libraries in the state of Oklahoma. The PTS library is happy to assist students with obtaining an OKShare card, which is required. An application and OKShare policies can be downloaded, as well.
